Plant Yourself Where You Are Loved

Plant yourself where you are loved so you can be fertilized, nurtured, and grow.

Have you ever wondered why we often experience the opposite of what God created us to live?

The enemy often begins planting seeds in our hearts at a young age. Those seeds can take root through childhood wounds, unavailable parents, betrayal, abuse, rejection, or the negative words spoken into our lives. Over time, those experiences can produce anger, lust, pride, greed, slothfulness, fear, insecurity, and many other struggles that distract us from the path God designed for us.

As I was watering my plants today, I admired how much they had grown. Just two weeks ago, I had repotted them into larger containers to give their roots more room to spread. Watching them flourish reminded me of something important about our own lives.

For our lives to change, we must be like those plants.

We need to plant ourselves in environments where we are loved, encouraged, and supported. We need people who will nourish us, fertilize us with truth and wisdom, and give us the space to grow through every season of life. Healing is a process, and growth doesn't happen overnight.

Just as a newly transplanted plant needs time to adjust before it flourishes, we also need grace during our own seasons of change. We all experience "replanting" moments—times when God moves us into a new environment, removes us from unhealthy places, or stretches us beyond what is comfortable. Those seasons can feel uncomfortable, but they are often where our greatest growth begins.

Don't stay planted in soil that keeps you from becoming who God created you to be. Plant yourself where you are loved, where your faith is strengthened, where your purpose is encouraged, and where you have room to grow.

Healthy soil produces healthy fruit. Choose your environment wisely, because what surrounds you will influence what grows within you.

When we stay rooted in God, we can continue to grow even through difficult seasons.

Psalm 1:2–3 reminds us:

"But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers."
